5,6-Diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine-3(2H)-thione is a chemical compound that is used as an antiviral agent. It is structurally related to both the hydrazines and the triazines. 5,6-Diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine-3(2H)-thione has inhibitory concentrations of 2.5 mg/mL against influenza A virus and can be used in the treatment of viral infections. The structure of this compound consists of a spacer between two sulfur atoms with a disulfide bond. The 5 position is substituted with a phenyl group and the 6 position is substituted with an amine group. This compound also has nmr spectra that can be analyzed for structural information about the molecule.
