Product Information

Name:
2,4-Difluorobenzenesulfonamide
Synonyms:
  • 2,4-Difluorobenzenesulphonamide
Description:

2,4-Difluorobenzenesulfonamide is an inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) and a potent inhibitor of DPP-IV. It has been shown to have a pharmacokinetic profile that is dependent on the route of administration. Oral administration leads to a high concentration in the blood after about 4 hours, whereas intravenous administration leads to a rapid increase in plasma concentrations. 2,4-Difluorobenzenesulfonamide inhibits the kinase activity of DPP-IV and is selective for this enzyme. It binds to the enzyme with high affinity and specificity. The inhibition of DPP-IV by 2,4-difluorobenzenesulfonamide may lead to decreased synthesis of proinflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα), interleukin 6 (IL6), and IL17A.
