Dibenzo[b,d]thiophene-4-carbaldehyde is an immunosorbent that binds to hydrocarbons and other aromatic compounds. It is used as a functional derivative in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), which is used to measure the amount of antibodies or antigens in a sample. Dibenzo[b,d]thiophene-4-carbaldehyde has been shown to be sensitive and efficient for the detection of hydrocarbons.
