Description:
3-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazole is a pyrazole that has been shown to be active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It has significant antimicrobial activity against gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Proteus vulgaris. 3-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazole also has significant antimicrobial activity against gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Bacillus subtilis and Streptococcus pneumoniae. 3-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazole initially showed bacterial growth inhibition at concentrations of 125 µg/ml in the presence of 1% ethanol. The compound was not active in the presence of 10% ethanol or 5% acetic acid.
