Description:
3,3-Dimethyl-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one is an efficient method for the synthesis of unsaturated ketones from hexadecanoic acid. This method is a variation of the Koenigs reaction and relies on acetonitrile as a solvent. 3,3-Dimethyl-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one has been shown to inhibit cancer cells by uv irradiation. The dichloromethane extract of the leaves inhibits inotropic effect and reduces blood pressure in animals.
