Product Information
- 1-butene
- 4,4-diethoxy-2-methyl-
4,4-Diethoxy-2-methylbut-1-ene is an acetal that is used as a chiral auxiliary in asymmetric synthesis. It is a potent activating agent for many metal ions and has been shown to be enantioselective with respect to proline derivatives. 4,4-Diethoxy-2-methylbut-1-ene can be allylated with diethyl allylsilane in high yields and good optical purity in the presence of catalytic amounts of iodine. This compound is also a potential additive for catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation reactions, which have been shown to be effective at high temperatures.
