Description:
2-[(4,6-Dimethylpyrimidin-2-yl)thio]acetohydrazide is an intermediate of the synthesis of cyclohexyl isothiocyanate and phenyl isothiocyanate. It can be used in analytical chemistry as a reagent for the determination of cyclohexane in petroleum products. The reaction with thiosemicarbazide yields 2-[(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-yl)thio]acetic acid.
