Description:
Diethyl 2,6-dimethylpyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate is a white solid that is soluble in organic solvents. It has been reported to have inhibitory properties against soybean lipoxygenase and hydrogen peroxide. It also inhibits the activity of ethylbenzene oxidation catalyzed by aluminum oxide. Diethyl 2,6-dimethylpyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate can be synthesized from piperonyl butoxide and acetonitrile in the presence of phosphorus pentoxide as a catalyst.
