Product Information
- 2-dibenzofurancarbonitrile
Dibenzo[b,d]furan-2-carbonitrile is a potent aromatase inhibitor that inhibits the production of estrogen by binding to the aromatase enzyme. Dibenzo[b,d]furan-2-carbonitrile has been shown to be effective in treating endometriosis, which is characterized by an overproduction of estrogen. This drug also has chemokine and progesterone receptor modulating activity, which may play a role in its therapeutic effectiveness. It can also be used for hormone replacement therapy or as an adjunct to other treatments for breast cancer and prostate cancer. Dibenzo[b,d]furan-2-carbonitrile binds to the extracellular domain of the human growth factor receptor (GR) with high affinity and specificity. The interaction with this receptor leads to inhibition of cell proliferation and tumorigenesis.
