Diethyl ethyl(3-methylbutyl)malonate is a metal-containing, organometallic compound that has the general formula CH(CH)COOCCH=CHCOOCCH=CH. It is a colorless liquid at room temperature. Diethyl ethyl(3-methylbutyl)malonate is used as a building block in organic synthesis and as an intermediate in the production of methylvalerate, n-propyl, sodium salt, metallo, malonate, aralkyl group, hydrocarbon group, phenyl group, acetoacetate, isopropyl and benzyl chloride. Diethyl ethyl(3-methylbutyl)malonate can also be used to produce formamide by heating with ammonia and hydrocarbons such as butane or pentane. There are high yields of this reaction.
