Description:
2,3-DMA is a functional group that has a benzene ring with two double bonds and two single bonds. This group is planar, because the atoms are arranged in a flat plane. The conjugation of the benzene ring and the double bond causes this molecule to have maximal conjugated system.
2,3-DMA also has one more electron in its valence shell than it does in its ground state. This extra electron makes it possible for 2,3-DMA to react with other molecules to form covalent bonds.
