Product Information

Name:
1,4-Diiodo-2,5-dimethoxybenzene
Description:

1,4-Diiodo-2,5-dimethoxybenzene is a chiral compound that can be used as a photocatalyst. It has been shown to have an optical band gap of 1.5 eV. This compound is capable of cross-coupling reactions, such as the Diels-Alder reaction and the Suzuki reaction, with phenylene and other alkenes. The photocatalytic activity of this compound was investigated in the presence of TiO2 under UV irradiation. The diiodo dimethoxybenzene isomeric mixture showed better activity than the enantiopure compound. This material can also be used as polymer acceptor and disrupting monoaddition agent in polymers with semiconducting architectures or stereoselective properties.
