Description:

Diethyl 2-(aminomethylene)malonate is a pyridine compound that has been shown to have anticancer activity. It binds to the α1 subunit of the GABAA receptor and inhibits cancer cell growth by inhibiting DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis. Diethyl 2-(aminomethylene)malonate also inhibits the growth of cancer cells in cervical cancer by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins. This drug has been shown to inhibit prostate hypertrophy by blocking the binding of benzodiazepine receptors to its natural ligands, which are neurotransmitters that are involved in regulating anxiety. Diethyl 2-(aminomethylene)malonate can be used as an alternative treatment for prostate hypertrophy because it does not produce any adverse effects on the central nervous system.
