Dibutylamine hydrochloride is an organic compound that is a member of the class of aliphatic hydrocarbons. It can be used as a cross-linking agent in cationic polymerization. Dibutylamine hydrochloride can be synthesized by reacting butyryl chloride with potassium ion and alkoxy radical in the presence of an inorganic acid, such as hydrogen chloride or hydroxide solution. The reaction produces dibutylamine hydrochloride, which can then be reacted with benzofuran derivatives to produce amines.
