Description:
6,7-Dihydroimidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-8(5H)-one is a hydrogenated form of imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine. It can be deprotected to give the cyclized form of this compound. Lithiation and oxidation of 6,7-dihydroimidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-8(5H)-one gives the corresponding 2-(4'-hydroxyphenyl)isooxazole. This compound has shown high yields in both formamide and oxidized conditions.
