2-(2,5-Diaminophenyl)ethanol sulfate is a glycol that is used in the preparation of a number of pharmaceuticals. 2-(2,5-Diaminophenyl)ethanol sulfate has been shown to be an effective cure for malaria and other diseases caused by protozoans. It is also used as an anti-inflammatory agent and has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria such as staphylococcus and streptococcus. 2-(2,5-Diaminophenyl)ethanol sulfate can be synthesized from ethylene glycol and diamine tetraacetic acid. This compound also inhibits blood coagulation and prevents the formation of fibrin clots.
