Description

Diethyl pimelate is a chemical substance that is used as a synthetic intermediate in the synthesis of other chemicals. It is a reactive compound, which can be synthesized by reacting ethyl acetate with chloroacetic acid in the presence of hydrochloric acid. Diethyl pimelate has been shown to inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α. This chemical has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and may be useful for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Diethyl pimelate is chemically stable at high temperatures and does not react with inorganic acids such as hydrochloric or sulfuric acids.
