5,6-Dihydro-4H-pyrrolo[1,2-b]pyrazole is a small molecule that inhibits angiogenesis and tumor growth. It is a potent inhibitor of the pro-angiogenic cytokine vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and has been shown to have anti-angiogenic effects in vitro. 5,6-Dihydro-4H-pyrrolo[1,2-b]pyrazole has also been shown to inhibit the kinase domain of human VEGF receptor 1 (VEGFR1). This drug has been found to be safe for use in clinical trials on glioma patients. The toxicological studies in animals showed no signs of toxicity, but pancreatitis was observed when this drug was administered at high doses.
