4,5-Dibromopyridazin-3(2H)-one is a fluorescent compound that has been shown to be an effective chemoselective probe for the detection of cancer cells. It can be used as a fluorescent probe for fluorescence imaging and diagnosis of cancer cells. The molecule has been shown to be selective for the glycolytic enzyme glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) and can be used as a specific inhibitor of GAPDH. 4,5-Dibromopyridazin-3(2H)-one is soluble in both organic solvents and water, making it suitable for use in biological applications.
