Description:

3-(Dimethylamino)propanoic acid hydrochloride (DMAPA-HCl) is a hydrophobic modifier that is used in the manufacture of devices such as contact lenses, intraocular lenses, and other medical devices. It can be applied to inorganic surfaces or polymeric materials. This compound has been shown to be effective for preventing the transfer of lanthanides from one surface to another. DMAPA-HCl also has affinity for perovskite and can be used for filtration enhancement. 3-(Dimethylamino)propanoic acid hydrochloride has been clinically proven to inhibit growth of certain types of cancer cells and is an anticancer drug candidate.
