Description:
2,4-Dichloro-5-(chloromethyl)pyrimidine is a regioselective synthetic analog of pseudouridine. It has been used as an oligonucleotide building block for the synthesis of analogues with various alkyl chains and halogen substituents. 2,4-Dichloro-5-(chloromethyl)pyrimidine has been found to react with hydroxy groups in nucleic acids and proteins. This reaction can be used to generate reactive intermediates that are useful in the synthesis of other compounds.
