2,3-Dihydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine dihydrochloride (2,3-DHP) is an industrial chemical used as a chain transfer agent in the production of polymers. It is also used as a catalyst in polymerization reactions and as a structural reagent. 2,3-DHP is an additive to gasoline to control the formation of sulphur compounds that can lead to the formation of particles and smog. 2,3-DHP is also used in the manufacture of nylon 6 and nylon 12 by reacting with hexamethylene diamine. The coordination properties of 2,3-DHP allow it to be used as a catalytic agent for cyclopentadienyl complexes.
