Description:
Dimethyl3-cyclopentene-1,1-dicarboxylate is a monomer that can be used as an intermediate in the production of polymers. It is obtained by hydrocarboxylation of ethylene and activated with sulfuric acid. It has been characterised using gel permeation chromatography and permeation chromatography. It has also been shown to be catalytic in the production of unsymmetrical cyclopentenes and cyclopentadiene.
