Description:

Dibutylgermaniumdichloride is an organic solvent that has been shown to amplify the rate of homologous recombination in cancer cells. It has been found to be reactive with hydrocarbon group and germanium, which may be due to its ability to form a cyclic compound with these atoms. Dibutylgermaniumdichloride is used in clinicopathological research for determining the mutation rate of tumour cells. This chemical can also be used as a probe for protein synthesis in ovary cells, by integrating into DNA and disrupting transcription.
