Description

4,6-Dichloro-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine is an experimental drug that has been shown to have significant activity against p388 leukemia cells in culture. The mechanism of action for this compound has not yet been identified but it is thought to be related to its ability to inhibit the adenosine deaminase enzyme. This drug also showed significant antitumor activity against a variety of tumor cell lines and animal models. It was found that 4,6-Dichloro-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine did not affect the growth of normal cells but it had a high toxicity level on tumor cells.
