Description

3,4-Diaminocyclobut-3-ene-1,2-dione is a heterocycle with an asymmetric carbon atom. It has been shown to be useful for the detection of infectious diseases. 3,4-Diaminocyclobut-3-ene-1,2-dione binds to the chemokine receptor and inhibits the binding of the chemokine to its receptor. This reduces inflammatory responses in autoimmune diseases and other types of inflammation. 3,4-Diaminocyclobut-3-ene-1,2-dione is a potent inhibitor of HIV replication in vitro and has shown antiinflammatory activity in vivo.
