Product Information

Name:
Dimethylisopropylsilylimidazole
Synonyms:
  • Dimethylisopropylsilylimidazole (dimethylisopropylsilylating agent
  • 1-[dimethyl(propan-2-yl)silyl]-1H-imidazole
Description:

Dimethylisopropylsilylimidazole (DMSIL) is a molecule that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cells in tissue culture. DMSIL was found to have a matrix effect on cells, which may be due to its ability to alter the signal intensity of endogenous substances within the cell. The fluorescence detector was used as an analytical method for determining the concentration of DMSIL in urine samples. Linear regression analysis was used to show a significant correlation between the amount of DMSIL and cellular viability in hamster v79 cells.
