6,7-Dihydro-1,1,2,3,3-pentamethyl-4(5H)-indanone is a biofuel that can be used as a feedstock for the production of biodiesel or other fuel oils. It is an oily liquid with a neutral pH and it can be used in wastewater treatment. 6,7-Dihydro-1,1,2,3,3-pentamethyl-4(5H)-indanone can be extracted from biomass using dispersive solid phase extraction (SPE). The SPE process has been shown to result in higher recovery rates than traditional liquid solvent extraction methods.
