2,2-Dimethylcyclopropanecarbonitrile is a chemical compound that is produced by the bacterial strain subtilis. The optimal reaction conditions for this compound are at a temperature of 30°C and pH 7. 2,2-Dimethylcyclopropanecarbonitrile has been shown to be an acrylonitrile synthesis intermediate that can be detected by biochemical tests. It also has low activity in growth conditions of 37°C and pH 5.5. This compound has been studied using molecular modeling techniques to determine its structure and to identify any possible peptide sequences that could be synthesized with it.
