Product Information
- Quinoline, 2,4-Dibromo-
2,4-Dibromoquinoline is an activated quinoline derivative that can be used as a building block in organic synthesis. It has a redox potential of +0.27 V, which is lower than the standard reduction potential for quinolines. 2,4-Dibromoquinoline reacts with nitric acid to form 2,4-dinitroquinoline and bromine. This reaction is catalyzed by light and does not require any external reducing agent. The compound also has photophysical properties, reacting to light at 350 nm and emitting green light at 500 nm. 2,4-Dibromoquinoline also reacts with hydrogen sulfide (H2S) to form 2,4-dihydroxyquinoline and hydrogen sulfide gas. This reaction is reversible when it comes into contact with oxygen or other oxidizing agents such as nitrates or peroxides. In addition, 2,4-dibromo
