Product Information

Name:
Dimethylthiophene-2,3-dicarboxylate
Synonyms:
  • Dimethyl thiophene-2,3-dicarboxylic acid
Description:

Dimethylthiophene-2,3-dicarboxylate is a heterocyclic compound that has been found to be a potent inhibitor of cell proliferation and can be used as an anticancer drug. Dimethylthiophene-2,3-dicarboxylate binds to the DNA in the nucleus to inhibit transcription, leading to cancer cell death. This drug also inhibits the activity of acetone reductase which is necessary for the synthesis of cholesterol in the body. Dimethylthiophene-2,3-dicarboxylate has shown some promise as an inhibitor of Alzheimer's disease and polycystic ovary syndrome. It has also been shown to have contraceptive effects with high doses and inhibit the formation of pyridazine and acetonitrile in polycarboxylic acids by acting as an acceptor.
