Description:
4,6-Dimethylindole is a nucleophilic reagent that is used to prepare oligonucleotides. It is non-polar and has a high melting point. 4,6-Dimethylindole is used in the synthesis of DNA and RNA. It can be used for the preparation of nucleic acids with different reactive groups at each end. It reacts with anilines to form isosteres, which are analogues of indoles. 4,6-Dimethylindole has been shown to react with chloride ions to form a sodium salt.
