Description

Diacetoacet-2-chlor-5-methyl-1,4-phenylenediamide is a yellow colorant that can be used in the treatment of textiles. It is prepared by condensation of a diazo compound with an organic solvent, followed by salt solution and sodium hydroxide solution. The condensation product is then heated to remove the organic solvent. Diacetoacet-2-chlor-5-methyl-1,4-phenylenediamide is resistant to both heat and hydroxides. The preparation process takes place in three steps: diazotization, coupling, and hydrolysis.
