Description:
3,4-Dichloroisothiazole-5-carboxylicacid is a diluent used to prepare amides with carboxyl groups. It has been shown to be bactericidal, specifically against pyricularia. 3,4-Dichloroisothiazole-5-carboxylicacid can also be used as an acceptor in the chlorination of phenols and anhydrides. The compound is used as a chloride in kinetic studies of reaction rates and activation energies by dehydrating organic compounds.
