Description:
1,2-Dibromocyclopentene is an organic compound that is used as a fluorophore for research. It has a fluorescent lifetime of about 2.4 nanoseconds and emits light at a wavelength of 567 nm when excited by ultraviolet light. 1,2-Dibromocyclopentene is soluble in organic solvents such as carbon tetrachloride and diphosphine. This molecule is also sensitive to anions such as potassium phosphate and chloride ions, which can be used to separate it from other compounds.
