Product Information
- 9H-fluorene, 2,7-dibromo-9,9-didecyl-
2,7-Dibromo-9,9-didecyl-9H-fluorene is a fluorescent probe that can be used to detect hydrophobic regions in the cell. It has been shown to be useful for locating protein binding sites and for studying conformational changes in proteins. This compound has been used as an advanced microscope imaging agent. When 2,7-dibromo-9,9-didecyl-9H-fluorene is irradiated with UV light at 365 nm, it emits fluorescence at 590 nm. The emission of fluorescence can be quenched by exposure to propargylamine or by irradiation with uv light at 320 nm. The polymer matrix crosslinking procedure (PMX) is used to attach this molecule to polystyrene particles and the fluorescence is then observed using gel permeation chromatography (GPC).
