Description:
5-[Di(tert-butyl)phosphino]-1',3',5'-triphenyl-1'H-[1,4']bipyrazolyl is a palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling agent that inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids by inhibiting the enzyme delta-9 desaturase. It is an analogue of the natural product lapatinib and has been shown to inhibit tumor cell lines in vitro. 5-[Di(tert-butyl)phosphino]-1',3',5'-triphenyl-1'H-[1,4']bipyrazolyl binds to the active site of the enzyme, which prevents substrate binding and blocks the formation of a thioester bond with coenzyme A. This inhibition leads to decreased production of fatty acids from acetyl CoA.
