Product Information
2,6-Diaminopyrazine is a macrocyclic molecule that is found in the form of sodamide. It can be synthesized from the reaction of dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate with chlorine atoms. The structure of 2,6-diaminopyrazine has been determined by X-ray diffraction and spectroscopic methods. Functional theory was used to predict the molecular shape of this molecule. This compound is catalytic and can be used for reactions involving amines, nitronium ions, or hydroxylamine. 2,6-Diaminopyrazine also reacts with formamide to produce hydroxylamine which is then catalytically reduced by hydrated palladium metal to produce ammonia as a gas.
