Product Information
- 6-Dimethylaminonaphthalene-2-Carbaldehyde
- 6-dimethylamino-2-naphthaldehyde
6-(Dimethylamino)-2-naphthaldehyde is a fluorophore that can be used as a fluorescent probe to detect the presence of nucleophilic attack. It has been shown to react with nucleophiles in the cytosol and mitochondria of rat liver cells, yielding different products depending on the cell type. 6-(Dimethylamino)-2-naphthaldehyde can also be used as an optical probe to study physiological activities such as ATPase activity or electron transport in human liver cells. The fluorescence intensity of 6-(dimethylamino)-2-naphthaldehyde is proportional to the concentration of carboxylate groups, which are found in high concentrations in human liver and mitochondrial membranes.
