3,4-Dichloro-N-methylaniline (3,4-DMA) is a potential antidepressant that inhibits serotonin reuptake and has antagonist properties at the 5-HT2C receptor. This drug has been shown to have high potency in vivo and is used as a lead compound for the development of other 5-HT2C receptor antagonists. 3,4-DMA is an inhibitor of serotonin transporter (SERT). It does not bind to dopamine or norepinephrine transporters.
