2-[(2,6-Dichlorophenyl)amino]benzeneacetic acid sodium salt is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent. It is used in the treatment of fever, headache, and pain. 2-[(2,6-Dichlorophenyl)amino]benzeneacetic acid sodium salt inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandin E2 by inhibiting cyclooxygenase activity. This inhibition leads to an attenuation of inflammation and pain. The drug has been shown to be effective in the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis in humans. Inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity can lead to drug interactions with other drugs that are metabolized by this enzyme system. 2-[(2,6-Dichlorophenyl)amino]benzeneacetic acid sodium salt also has a Michaelis-Menten kinetics profile for its inhibition of cyclooxygen
