Product Information
- 2,2-Dimethylcyclopropane-1-Carboxamide
- Cyclopropanecarboxamide, 2,2-Dimethyl-
2,2-Dimethylcyclopropane carboxamide (DMC) is a chemical compound that has optimal reactivity at a flow rate of 0.5 mL/min. DMC can be synthesized from acrylonitrile and serine protease with detectable activity from bacterial strains such as Brevibacterium sp. This chemical has been used in the production of 2,2-dimethylcylohexane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties when expressed in recombinant e. coli. DMC is an optical isomer that can be oxidized by chlorine or other halogens to form a chlorinated derivative. DMC also has the ability to form crystals and exist as two different molecular weight forms due to its chiral nature. The kinetic reaction of DMC is second order with respect to both substrate and product.
