Description

1,3-Dimethyl-5-(methylamino)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl](2-fluorophenyl)methanone is a neuroleptic drug that is used in the treatment of schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. It has been shown to inhibit the growth and mutation of carcinogenic cells in animals. The mechanism of action may be related to the inhibition of liver s9 protein activity, which is an enzyme necessary for DNA synthesis. 1,3-Dimethyl-5-(methylamino)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl](2-fluorophenyl)methanone also inhibits Ta100 and TA98 strains of Salmonella typhimurium. It is not active against untreated or revertant strains of Salmonella typhimurium. This drug has not been tested on cancer cells from humans or other mammals.
