Synonyms:
  • Bis(1-Methylethyl) (Bromomethyl)Boronate
Description:

Diisopropyl(bromomethyl)boronate is a reagent used in organic synthesis. It is an alkynyl boronic ester that reacts with alkenes to form new carbon-carbon bonds. Diisopropyl(bromomethyl)boronate can be used for the asymmetric synthesis of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds and other oxidations of aldehydes and ketones. This reagent has been shown to have a high yield, solvents are not required for its preparation, and it is stable at room temperature.
