Description:

4,7-Dibromo-2,1,3-benzoxadiazole (DBBO) is a synthetic compound that has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth. It is an electron acceptor and an anion radical which can be used to induce cellular uptake in vitro. DBBO is stable in the presence of oxygen and light. This compound has been shown to have a positive red shift and a decrease in fluorescence intensity when it binds with organic ligands due to the redox potentials. DBBO also appears in different morphologies depending on the solvent used, such as crystals or amorphous solid.
