Product Information

Name:
4,5-Dimethoxy-2-methylbenzoic acid
Description:

4,5-Dimethoxy-2-methylbenzoic acid is a chiral benzenoid with an amide group. Its chemical properties are determined by its protoberberine alkaloid nature. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer activities in vitro. 4,5-Dimethoxy-2-methylbenzoic acid is used as a reagent for the synthesis of other compounds. The compound can be isolated from the roots of Sinensis plants and is soluble in organic solvents. The compound also reacts with superoxide anion radicals and forms hydrogen peroxide, which then reacts with hydroxyl radicals to form water and oxygen. This reaction can be used as an analytical method for measuring the concentration of these radicals.
