Description:

2,6-Dibenzhydryl-4-methylaniline (2,6-DBMA) is a compound that was synthesized to be used as a precursor for the synthesis of palladium complexes. It is also used to generate mononuclear anilines via the reaction with azides. 2,6-DBMA can be prepared by heating aniline with triflic acid and hydrochloric acid, which produces diazomethane as a byproduct. The use of FT-IR spectroscopy has been shown to be an effective technique for determining the reaction time of 2,6-DBMA. This compound has been found to be toxic in mice at doses of 10 mg/kg body weight and did not show any signs of toxicity at doses up to 100 mg/kg body weight when given orally.
