Product Information
Deformylflustrabromine hydrochloride is a new chemical compound that has been shown to modulate nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. Deformylflustrabromine hydrochloride is structurally similar to the natural ligand acetylcholine and it binds to the receptor, blocking the binding of acetylcholine. Deformylflustrabromine hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the production of symptoms resulting from cholinergic excess by inhibiting the synthesis of acetylcholine in mitochondria. This substance also interacts with a lectin on cells that express nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, which may lead to allosteric modulation. Deformylflustrabromine hydrochloride affects subunits of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor and may be involved in receptor-mediated neurotransmission.
