Description:

Deuterium-chloride is a nitrite ion that reacts with hydrochloric acid to form chloride and water vapor. It is an amide of deuterium and hydrogen chloride. Deuterium-chloride is used in analytical chemistry as an internal standard for various measurements, such as the measurement of nitrite ion concentration. The protonated form of this molecule, HClD, has been found to bind to the alpha-2 receptor. This molecule has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties when it binds to the beta-2 receptor.
