7-(Deoxyadenosin-N(6)-yl)aristolactam I (7DAI) is a glycosidic bond that has been activated by the removal of the sugar moiety. It inhibits cancer cells’ growth in vitro, and 7DAI has been shown to bind to DNA and inhibit transcription. This compound also suppresses tumorigenesis in vivo by inhibiting carcinogens from binding to their target genes. 7DAI is found in urine samples of humans and rats, but can also be found in rat liver microsomes as well as human liver tissue.
